Tulipa’Ogene’ for Dutch Eurovision Song Contestants

Lisa, Amy and Shelley of OG3NE baptise their own unique tulip with champagne: orange with fringed petals. The singers have personally selected the new tulip. "We knew right away that this would be our tulip. The color symbolizes our participation in the Eurovision Song Contest and fringed petals are unique and special. We are extremely proud of our own tulip, said OG3NE. The new tulip is offered by Remarkable Tulips in cooperation with the radio station 100% NL and the Dutch tulip growers. Tulip grower Arjan Smit: "The tulip is a successful Dutch business card in the world. We hope OG3NE will also blossom on the international stage.”

Unique features
The OG3NE tulip petals are fringed with a soft, warm orange color. Tulip Promotion Netherlands (TPN) ensures that the name is registered in the International Cultivar Register of Tulip Names. The new tulip is bred by Remarkable Tulips from Lisse. The breeding process of this tulip lasted 19 years. After baptism begins the propagating of the new tulip bulbs. The OG3NE-tulip will be limited available from next year.

OG3NE
OG3NE consists of sisters Lisa, Amy and Shelley. The band name is a contraction of O (the blood type of their mother) and G3NE (the genes that connect them to each other). This year OG3NE represent the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev.
