Introduction new Dümmen Orange rose: Belle Katharina+
In cooperation with Decofresh Roses Group and grower Omang top hybridizer Dümmen Orange introduces Belle Katharina+, a glorious full rose with a stormy heart that offers a unique touch to every single beauty in cream, soft pink and green.
Romantic colours perfectly suited for floral wedding décor combined with the natural and botanical look that is right now trending all over the flower branch. Belle Katharina+ has the potential to become an immensely popular rose with a leading part in bouquets going for an original and contemporary look. The blended colours offer a soft and friendly vibe which contrasts beautifully with the powerful built of the rose that truly shows itself in the great way it opens. It’s really a top-class novelty that makes people pay attention.
Stormy heart
Belle Katharina+ was created in in 2014 in the greenhouses of Dümmen Orange. Within a year chain partner Decofresh Roses Group and the hybridizing experts of Dümmen Orange decided by mutual agreement to start a test phase because the rose showed such promise. The dark green of the leaves matches the light petals beautifully. And the ultimate surprise Belle Katharina+ has to offer, is that magnificent, slightly irregular 'stormy heart'. It's a lovely natural look that is very fashionable and makes every single rose perfectly unique. Together with an excellent vase life and good results from transports and shipment trials all parties involved decided to let grower Omang in Kenya plant Belle Katharina+ at a height of 2000 metres for optimal results. Omang is one of the growers of Decofresh Roses Group, the rose will be traded exclusively by Decofresh Roses (www.decofresh.com) and is available as of now.
Scandinavian beauty
Danish florist Katharina Albrechtsen was given the honour to name the rose, as part of a Decofresh Roses sponsored award she won at IFTF 2017. "I love the shape and colours of the rose," Albrechtsen says. "And it's strong, just like me. So, it is a privilege that it now carries my name." There will be a live introduction of the rose in Denmark, Belle Katharina+ has a look that is highly popular in Scandinavian countries. That's why it will be used during the Danish Florists Championship, a special launch will be organised for 15 Swedish designers and the rose will be featured in trade magazine Bloomster. If everything works out, Belle Katharina+ will sweep the rest of the professional flower scène from the north, as the cool and strong beauty that it is.
