Basewell by Dümmen Orange wins two awards at Cultivate’19

Dümmen Orange is proud to have accepted three awards over the course of the Cultivate’19 tradeshow in Columbus, Ohio. Their Basewell® system was recognized by two organizations, along with recognition for a new potted mum introduction, ‘Rainbow Circus.’

At the Medal of Excellence event hosted by Greenhouse Grower magazine, the Basewell system was announced as the winner of the 2019 Greenhouse Grower Technology of the Year Award. The award, in its second year since its inception last year at Cultivate'18, recognizes new technology that has the potential to have a lasting impact on greenhouse production. Perry Wismans, Global Head of Floriculture Innovation at Dümmen Orange, accepted the award and shared, “It is not very often that there is a new product form coming onto the market, and with Basewell, we have something we think can revolutionize the young plant industry.” He thanked the Dümmen Orange team for their efforts in developing the technology, and also thanked their customers: “The most important people involved in the trial process were our customers; they gave us very valuable feedback on the first trials and they are supporting us in bringing this product to market.”

The Basewell system was also selected for a Retailers’ Choice Award by The Garden Center Group, presented by AmericanHort. In total, thirteen exhibitors were presented with this accolade that identifies the top new products at Cultivate that have the potential to add excitement and value for retailers and retail growers. Rebecca Lusk, Retail Director at Dümmen Orange, accepted the award during the ceremony.

Lusk also accepted on behalf of Dümmen Orange a second Retailers’ Choice Award for their new ‘Rainbow Circus’ potted mum. A head-turner in the Dümmen Orange booth, ‘Rainbow Circus’ displays a striking pattern of gold and red stripes and is available with autumn themed point-of-purchase material, providing an inspiring retail-ready solution.
