We are looking for a Research Assistant Cell Biology for our Cell Biology Team in De Lier.
Why is this your job?
As a Research Assistant Cell Biology, you will lead and execute R&D activities within defined projects or support plans aimed at effectively delivering quality data and results and thus contributing to the innovation of products and processes and expanding the freedom-to-operate and intellectual property position. The position offers exposure to the state-of-the-art Cell Biology and Tissue Culture technologies applied to different ornamental crops in a competitive and dynamic environment. You will actively take part in a young, and dynamic team; good communication skills and team-player mentality are valued in all our lab personnel. The reporting line is directed to Research Manager Plant Process Innovation.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
• Efficient and timely execution of routine activities like media preparation, multiplication and maintenance of plants, shipment, etcetera;
• Supports the creation of R&D year planning within relevant domain, and execution thereof
• Take part in processing different running projects e.g. in vitro culture establishment, plant propagation, and organogenesis;
• Following defined SOP procedures;
• Occasionally conduct literature reviews and assist in the design of research methodologies to support ongoing projects;
• Following process guidelines as well as SOP to achieve the best quality and safety;
• Assisting with protocol applications and process execution;
• Gather experimental data ensuring accuracy and relevance;
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate research findings to internal stakeholders;
• Supporting the Cell Biology team with organization, communication and administration.
Who are you?
• You have a B.Sc. (or M.Sc.) degree in Life Sciences and/or Laboratory applications. Prior experience in research preferred;
• You have proven experience with working in aseptic conditions and with several of the techniques described above. Plant tissue culture experience is a plus;
• You work independently and collaboratively within the team environment;
• You show proactivity, adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving work setting;
• You have strong organizational skills and attention to details;
• You master excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• You have a team player mentality;
• You are proficient in the English language, both written and verbal.
