Hobaho by Dümmen Orange celebrates its 100th anniversary

Hobaho by Dümmen Orange celebrated the company's 100th anniversary on April 19. Presenter Krijn Schuitemaker led a special anniversary talk show that the Hobaho employees could follow via a live stream at home. For this occasion, all employees received a festive package in advance.

Mayor Lies Spruit of Hobaho’s home base Lisse was the first to congratulate General Manager Foeke Gardenier and his colleagues. She indicated that she was proud of Hobaho's presence in Lisse: "A leading company in the bulb industry, which is continuously working on improvement and innovation."

Hugo Noordhoek Hegt, CEO of the Dümmen Orange group, also took a seat at the talk show table as a guest. He too warmly congratulated Hobaho and indicated that flower bulbs are a valuable addition to the Dümmen Orange product portfolio. The steps Hobaho is taking in the field of resistance breeding and shortening the tulip breeding cycle make him particularly proud.

As a gift he presented a bronze tulip made by artist Kiek Bangert. This work of art will be given a place in the reception hall of Hobaho.

Director Foeke Gardenier then reflected on the strength of the Hobaho team: "The drive and loyalty are great." Sam van Egmond, Commercial Director, highlighted the importance of Hobaho's connection with its customers.

As special talk show guests, veterans Joop Zwetsloot, Piet Goemans and Henk Hoogervorst were invited. They wrote a historical book about 100 years of Hobaho and told their personal story about their time at the company at the talk show table.

Broker Marcel Noppen - who has worked at Hobaho for almost 37 years - concluded the talk show with a humorous ode to his profession.
