Dümmen Orange sailing event again a great success

Dümmen Orange took Dutch chrysanthemum growers, wholesalers and other relations for a sailing trip on Thursday, September 8. In twelve sailing yachts on the water of the Hollands Diep, guests competed for the Harry Kloppenburg Memorial Cup. In addition, a large clipper sailed along where guests could relax and enjoy the sun. The day started with a forecast of rain and thunderstorms, but turned into a wonderful sailing day with wind force 3 to 4.

The Dümmen Orange sailing event is primarily an informal gathering for everyone who is professionally involved with cut chrysanthemums. Reinoud Hagen, Managing Director Cut Flowers: “It is not only very pleasant, but also very useful to meet each other in this setting. We doubted for a while whether the current business sentiment allowed us to organize an event like this. After we contacted some of our relations, it was decided to let it go ahead.”

Last year, Dümmen Orange revived the tradition of organizing an annual sailing event. Reinoud Hagen: “As a chain, we are strongly linked. On a day like this, as professionals, we exchange a lot of information about the things that are on our minds right now. Finding and maintaining the connection with each other has become more important than ever.”
