Visit highlights our innovative role in ornamental plant breeding
On May 22, we welcomed a delegation from the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) to our Breeding Technology Centre in the Netherlands. The CPVO has been reaching out to Dümmen Orange, a leading ornamental breeder, to explore key trends and future challenges.
In operation since 1995, the CPVO is the European Union agency responsible for managing the Community Plant Variety Rights system. Their work supports innovation and the development of new plant varieties by providing essential intellectual property protection for breeders—an effort closely aligned with our mission at Dümmen Orange.
Welcoming the CPVO, we expressed our appreciation for their vital role in ensuring a fair, transparent, and thriving market for plant varieties across Europe and beyond. As a global leader in ornamental breeding, we deeply value the role that the CPVO plays in safeguarding plant breeders' rights and supporting innovation in our industry. The visit was an opportunity to showcase our innovation, people, and passion for horticulture, and to engage in meaningful discussions on current developments in the field of plant breeding.
