As an Associate Breeder Pot & Bedding Plants, you play a key role in breeding competitive Pot and Bedding varieties for major markets and contribute to product development to achieve business objectives. You will operate in an international team, and you will report to the Breeding Manager. Your work directly supports our R&D department in Puerto Lumbreras, Murcia, Spain and helps us deliver innovation, quality, and value to our customers and partners worldwide.

Your tasks and/or responsibilities include

  • Preparation and coordination of daily breeding activities with amongst flower trials and diagnostics. 
  • Collecting and analyzing phenotypic and genotypic data in our breeding database. 
  • Reporting on the progress of breeding activities and making recommendations for adjustments and improvement of systems and processes.
  • Ensuring the implementation of new developments into the breeding processes.
  • Operate, optimize and coordinate breeding and production process in the greenhouse.

Your profile

As an Associate Breeder Pot & Bedding Plants, you combine strong analytical thinking with a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and thrive as a team player who actively supports cross-functional collaboration. With a sharp eye for detail, you contribute to high-quality breeding work in a dynamic greenhouse environment.

Furthermore you have:

  • a Master’s degree in Life Sciences, preferably in Plant Breeding. 
  • alternatively, a relevant Bachelor’s Degree with years working experience.
  • experience with breeding processes and systems, and an eye for detail.
  • a good command of the English language, both verbal and written; good command of the Spanish language is preferred.
