We are looking for a Horticultural (Graduation) Intern for our Production Location department in Arusha, Tanzania.
Dümmen Orange keeps moving! Are you independent, eager to learn, have strong communication skills, careful and are you following a course in Business Administration. Then we have a fun and very educational internship for you!
Our production location in Arusha in Tanzania is specialized in the production of Kalanchoe cuttings, and currently in a process of diversification to some other crops. The production takes place in 10 ha greenhouses with around 250 employees. As an Intern we would like you to participate in analyzing some critical processes in our company and setting up a Dashboard of performance KPI’s.
We are looking for someone who wants to join our dedicated team and who, after all that theory, would like to learn in practice. This internship will give you the opportunity to discover all facets of running a horticultural farm in Africa. It includes, among other things:
- Definition of the main processes for each Department;
- Identification of the most relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for each process and /or department;
- Developing ways to measure and record these KPI’s;
- Set up a company Dashboard for monitoring these KPI’s;
- Analyse some main processes by using LEAN approach
- Assist in further rolling out GreenCompliance system on our farm;
- Liaise with all internal stakeholders on the farm;
- Supported by horticultural on-site specialists.
- You are currently following an HBO course in Business Administration and Horticulture;
- You are eager to learn, dare to take initiative and suggest areas for improvement;
- You are independent and have strong communication skills;
- You work very meticulously and handle confidential data with care;
- You master the English language, spoken and written. Dutch would be a plus.
