We are looking for a Breeding Assistant (m/f/d) for our R&D department in Rheinberg/Germany. This job is temporary with a period of 7 months due to parental leave.

Why is this your job?

As Breeding Assistant (m/f/d) for our Annuals  assortment you will be part of a dedicated team that develops new commercial bedding varieties with unique innovative traits for our customers.  

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Preparation and coordination of daily breeding activities, incl. interbloom trials and diagnostics,
  • Collection and analysis of phenotypic and genotypic data in our breeding database,
  • Reporting on breeding activities progress and active participation in the optimisation of systems and processes,
  • Support with the implementation of new developments into the breeding processes.

Who are you?

  • Completed BSc degree in Life Sciences, preferably in Plant Breeding, or a comparable educational background,
  • Good English skills (both verbal and written), additional German skills would be an advantage,
  • Affinity with breeding processes and systems and an eye for detail,
  • Analytical mindset, excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
  • Team player facilitating cross-functional collaboration,
  • ‘Hands-on’ approach to realising daily tasks in both greenhouse and office.
